5-week Southeast Asia solo trip reflections part 2
Second stop, first city: Cần Thơ, Việt Nam

My second stop from the SEA trip was Việt Nam and the first city was Cần Thơ to visit family–all my moms and dads. The
trip coincided with my grandfather's death anniversary so I was able to attend for the first time in my life. Death
anniversaries is celebrated in our culture to honor our loved ones after they've passed by gathering, sharing stories,
and breaking bread because we believe that we'll meet again.
I wasn't able to meet my grandparents before they passed so I'd listen to stories my mom would share with us and it's
amazing how memories can still be vivid for her despite it being so long ago because in the end it's love that will
remain.
Cần Thơ is essentially the suburbs and is rapidly developing. I've been fortunate to visit four times now and I remain
intrigued witnessing the improvements and changes that are made within a 6-year span so far.
